Local podcast gets down and dirty with local business

Now Scott Neill may not have stood in a cornfield hearing a voice saying, “If you build it, he will come.” But when Scott launched his podcast “Small Talk With Scott” just a few short months ago he never thought it would be his Field of Dreams moment.

Neill, owner and president of Scott Neill Insurance Brokers, has been serving the insurance needs of Roanoke businesses and residents for more than ten years. Not only is he himself a successful entrepreneur, but Neill also has a strong sense of loyalty to lift up other businesses in our little corner of Denton County and the rest of the 76262 community.

The podcast “Small Talk With Scott” debuted in December of 2021 as an avenue for Neill to feature local entrepreneurs and help them get their stories out there. In just thirty minutes or less, Scott broadcasts the stories behind the businesses you know and love in Roanoke and the rest of 76262.

There’s always a story behind any start-up or entrepreneur. Success doesn’t just happen with a little bit of luck and fairy dust. In his podcast, Scott sits down with some of the most interesting business owners and lets them share their heartaches, their crowning achievements, and what fuels their flame to get up and go after it every day.

Don’t expect a half-hour long product plug. In fact, Scott makes it clear that he’s not on the air to sell you insurance. His passion is to bring business owners to the forefront so the spotlight is on them as a member of our community. This kind of real talk is unfiltered and the right about of nitty-gritty that makes listeners come back for more.

In a small town like Roanoke, Scott knows the importance of getting to know the people behind the scenes at your favorite restaurant, retail store, or barbershop. These are the people that deserve exposure for all their hard work and dedication to make our little town great.
