No matter your fitness level, age, or ability, there is something for everyone at the Roanoke Recreation Center located conveniently in downtown Roanoke.

This 38,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility includes a weight room, gymnasiums, racquetball courts, aerobics rooms, and a walking track.


With affordable memberships for residents and non-residents, you’re going to get plenty of options to meet your fitness goals. As a special bonus, our older active adults (65+) receive their memberships for free!


If strength and cardio training is your thing, you’ll find a well-equipped weight room with various machines including treadmills, ellipticals, as well as free weights. And to keep the little ones preoccupied they offer a Children’s Activity Center monitored by trained staff.


Perhaps the best feature of the Roanoke Rec Center is that all adult fitness classes are included! Taught by some of the finest instructors, there are a variety of fitness classes offered at various times throughout the day. You’re sure to find one (or more) classes that will get you moving.

High Fitness

Reminiscent of old-school aerobics with a modern twist. It’s a party with highs and lows to the best music!

Saturdays 9 am


Yoga

Yoga brings stability, flexibility, and strength to the mind and body. This class can be modified for those new to the practice of yoga or can be extended and deepened for more intermediate participants. No matter your level, all are welcome!

Mondays 6:30 pm & Thursdays 5:45 pm


Total Body Meltdown

A variety pack of strength, endurance, HIIT, core, and cardio. Utilizing weights, Bosu balls, medicine balls, bands, sand bells, battle ropes, and more! No class is ever exactly the same. Perfect for a variety of ages and fitness levels.

M/W/F 5:15 am and 9:00 am.


Essentrics

Essentrics is an international program suitable for all fitness levels, simultaneously combining stretching and strengthening, engaging every muscle and joint. This class will increase flexibility and mobility for a healthy, toned, and pain-free body.

M/W/F 10:15 am


Barre Above

Blends the latest exercise science with the principles of the Lotte Burke method (the genesis of the Barre movement) delivering a bodyweight strengthening class designed for a wide range of fitness levels, ages, and bodies.

Tuesdays 5:45 pm


Body Blaster

Full body burn to increase muscle strength, blast fat, and ignite your metabolism using various forms or equipment and timed intervals.

M/W 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm


SOULfusion

SOULfusion is a creative blend of yoga-inspired flows, short cardio bursts, balance sequences, body weight, and weighted strength training exercises all set to crazy fun music. It offers modifications for all levels in the group exercise environment (in person or virtual). SOULfusion is all of your favorite workouts wrapped into ONE!

High Fitness and High Low

High Fitness is an intense yet fun fitness class that incorporates aerobic interval training with music and easy choreography. High Fitness produces a high caloric burn and full-body toning.


High Low: A throwback to the old school days of Hi Lo Aerobics, HIGH Low brings the same energy, intensity, and effectiveness of a HIGH Fitness class with lower impact.

Muscle Pump

Muscle Pump is tempo training for muscular endurance training. It’s a great class to develop proper form and control in strength lifting.

Cardio Kickboxing

Cardio Kickboxing is martial arts influenced cardio that uses combat-style choreography to get a full body workout!

Thursday 9:15 am


HIIT & Metabolic Conditioning

A bootcamp-style class with Hi Intensity Interval training and metabolic training. Maximize calorie burn during and post-workout. Something new and exciting with each class.
