Lakeview Elementary Namesake

Written by Cindy Chapman

Lakeview Elementary remains the oldest standing elementary school building within NISD. Built in 1983, the building remains essentially the same except for a few expansions over the years. Legend has it that Lakeview was named for its “view” and close proximity of Grapevine Lake. At the time, the land surrounding the school would have been mostly empty fields as much of Trophy Club was undeveloped. So with a keen eye (and a little imagination), a lake view was not out of the realm of possibility.
