Hughes named to Schools Transforming Learning list

The Principals’ Institute has named Northwest ISD’s Hughes Elementary School to its list of Schools Transforming Learning, honoring the school’s commitment to providing innovative educational services.

Just eight schools across Texas – and just three elementary schools – were named to the 2019 Schools Transforming Learning list, which considers unique learning opportunities and whether all students’ needs are met. Nominations for the distinction were open to more than 72 public school districts across the state involved in the professional organization.

Schools were selected to the list based on their work to advance student learning, including evolving at least one of the following categories: digital learning environments, learning assessments, learning accountability, organizational structure or partnerships.

A committee composed of Principals’ Institute members reviewed nominations and selected this year’s designees. As part of Hughes’ recognition, it was honored at the Principals’ Institute Summer Conference on June 6.
