Cox Elementary Namesake
Written By Cindy Chapman
Wayne A. Cox moved to Justin in 1941 where he raised his family and became a formidable force in both the educational and civic sectors. A longtime educator, he spent 42 years as either a teacher, coach, principal, or superintendent until he retired from NISD in 1971. In addition, he served on the Justin city council and then later as Mayor where his contributions to the paving of FM 156, establishing the city’s waterworks, and the purchase of Justin’s City Hall are well noted. The Cox family legacy is strong in NISD where many of Mr. Cox’s descendants still attend today.
