Chris Addington is the fire chief for the City of Roanoke. He has served as the Roanoke fire chief since June of 2018. Chief Addington has great pride in the family atmosphere that’s present in every department and throughout the community.

Faith and family are the pillars of Chief Addington’s life. He’s married to Elizabeth Addington and has a twelve year-old son, Cason. Born and raised in South Texas, Chief Addington began community service at the age of eighteen and has also served as the Division Chief in Lubbock. The Roanoke Fire Department emphasizes a strong fire prevention program that better ensures the safety of the public. The best way to prevent a fire is to keep it from ever happening. Certified fire inspectors conduct annual fire inspections of all businesses throughout the area. Besides providing fire and EMS protection to the citizens of Roanoke, the Roanoke Fire Department also provides services to southern Northlake, southern Denton County, and northern Tarrant County.

One of the unique features of the Roanoke Fire Department is that it’s a full-service agency with both paid staff and volunteers. Their volunteer program called the Residential Reserves has been a great addition to the department. These dedicated volunteers each bring their unique knowledge and skillsets to better the community. Chief Addington is proud of the Citizen’s Fire Academy,

a program for people to learn about the daily life of firefighters while increasing fire and life safety awareness. They host a Citizen’s Fire Academy class each year. One session teaches vehicle extrication as participants get to cut up a car with the hydraulic Jaws of Life. Another session is for live firefighting training.

Tours of the fire station can be scheduled by calling the Roanoke Fire Marshall at 817-491-2301. The Roanoke Fire-EMS Department is dedicated to protecting life, property, and community resources through prevention, preparation, response, and mitigation. The Roanoke fire station is located at 201 Fairway Drive. Learn more at roanoketexas.com.
