Academy Round-Up
NISD offers unique learning opportunities for high schoolers

There are many advantages of living in 76262, however, many families may not be aware that Northwest ISD (NISD) offers a variety of unique academic opportunities for its students.
Did you know that no matter where you live in the district, your child can attend any NISD high school by way of enrolling into an academy?
NISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program is designed to combine strong academics with robust career-minded education. As part of the NISD CTE program, there are eight different academies. Academies are designed to bring an immersive learning experience that spans the course of four years.
There are four high schools within our district (two in 76262) and all offer two unique learning academies.
Northwest High School (Justin)
STEM Academy
Creative Media Production Academy
Eaton High School (Fort Worth)
Aviation and Aeronautics Academy
Business Management and Entrepreneurship Academy
Byron Nelson High School (Trophy Club)
Biomedical Sciences Academy
Culinary Arts and Hospitality Academy
Steele Early College High School (Roanoke)
Collegiate Academy
Cosmetology Academy
Beginning October 17, every eighth grader within the district can apply for the academy of their choosing, regardless of the high school for which they are zoned. Since each academy is housed within the high school there are a limited number of available spots. Notification of academy enrollment status takes place in January.
